It can be any problem but most of prolem with snow blower that would not start is fuel problem. You can't let the gas just sit in the tank all summer. Straight gas thickens and gets gummy and clogs the carberator. 2-cycle gas/oil mix is even worse. The oil settles out and turns to a thick Jello-like gunk.

The fuel tank needs to be drained completely. The carb probably needs a serious cleaning and the spark plug needs to be replaced. A spray carb cleaner MIGHT open up the carb again. Spray down the inside of the carb, disconnect the fuel line at the carb and spray that well, pull the bowl in the carb and clean that and the needle valve completely. If you aren't careful pulling the bowl you will have the needle and spring fall out.

It's going to take a lot of work to clean everything, but it should get you running again. If not it's going to take a repair shop. Expect a long delay because most shops are running 4-6 weeks behind right now.

This spring disconnect the fuel line and drain the tank and then run the engine to drain the carb. It's a lot easier than fixing the snow blower each winter.
